Alright, so here is the thing with me and book series, I absolutely love series; however, I usually read books of a series when it's complete. Yes, the anticipation is lost but at least I can keep up with everything. Unfortunately, the Blue Blood series was not complete when I started reading it. I read the first five books back to back and then had to wait forever for Lost in Time (the sixth book). Once I finally got my hands on it, I was kind of lost in the beginning because I had forgotten what happened previously in the story. Now, this is not Melissa's fault but I do feel she could have dropped reminders earlier in the book. It just kind of took away from the story in the beginning because I was too busy trying to remember what happened in the last book.

Once I got back into the swing of things, I was thrown for another loop... the POV changed with no warning. In one chapter I was reading the POV of the main character, Schuyler, and then the next chapter was someone else. Once I adjusted to the constantly changing POVs, I really started to enjoy them as I got to learn more about Allegra Van Alen's (Schuyler's mother) past, which has been mostly an enigma till now. One thing with the POVs I wish Melissa would have done was be more consistent with them. There are 3 POVs in the book so each would have a chapter and then start again, however, as I got further into the book character one would have maybe two or three chapters back-to-back, then we would get character two's POV, and by the time character three's POV showed up, I forgot what happened to them previously. At one point, I was considering taking notes to keep up with everything. All I can say is flow of a story is very important (at least to me) I don't like being jostled around.

Considering this is the second to last book of the series, I was expecting the author to start tying up some of the loose ends, whelp, I will never set such high expectations again. If anything I was left with even more questions than I had before! Kudos to Melissa, if that's what she was going for, however, I've invested time and money into five books (Lost in Time will be six) I think I deserve a little more answers to my questions.

Well in the end, this book wasn't horrible, it just was. Some of the earlier books in the series were much better to me in my opinion. In the end, this book did what it's supposed to do, keep me briefly entertained and hooked so I'll buy the last book.
