Writing

My writing and pretty much goes hand-in-hand with my taste of reading. My WIPS are definitely more geared towards a YA audience in the genres of contemporary romance fiction and historical romance fiction, although I am definitely open to other genres, its just lately my ideas have been geared in the former two.

I pretty much write any time and anywhere. Whenever an idea hits me, I have to get it out of my head right then and there, hence why I have scrawling on napkins, in journals, on my phone, on my computer, and many, many post-it notes It sounds chaotic, but it works for me and if ain't broke, don't fix it. I just let the juices flow and ideas land where they may. Then I gather up my scraps of scenes and mold them together on the computer, so eventually organization comes.

NaNoWriMo Novel
Veiled (an alternative historical fiction romance)

Synopsis: Princess Roxanna has never been touched or seen by anyone for 12 years due to her kingdoms belief that she must be veiled and pure until she is married. Aware of the news of her impending marriage circulating through the court, Roxanna begins to question her beauty or lack of beauty and her arranged marriage. What is beauty? Is she beautiful? Will her husband think so? Will he treat her kindly?  Will they love each other?
Questions about her future husband and concerns of how she looks continue to grow until she finally meets Prince Darius, a vain and selfish man with no intentions of marrying someone he can't see. Despite his original disdain for her, Darius begins to see Roxanna as a friend, and after her reveal, a lover. Just as there finally appears to be happiness between the two, Darius' half-brother and manipulating  adviser, Cyrus, returns to the kingdom. Cyrus is used to having Darius' ear but now must compete with the influential Roxanna. When Darius leaves for battle, Cyrus and Roxanna come to a head over rule of the kingdom.
